Job description
A well established and highly respected Publisher of several print and online trade magazines, is looking to appoint a seasoned editor to one of the established titles in the stable.
It goes without saying that our client is looking to appoint a publishing professional who is passionate about managing and editing a trade magazine brand – and making a valued contribution to its related digital and social media platforms.
Yes, you will be a top rated editor – however, you also need to have undoubted “business savvy” – understanding the correlation required between top editorial content, on sales and other revenue streams – and how this correlation impacts on ROI and ultimately building and strengthening the brand.
Note:
Previous experience in working on similar Trade titles, is a prerequisite for consideration.
Experience in any other sector of the media industry will not be considered appropriate experience for consideration – i.e. consumer magazines, tabloids, radio, TV, etc.
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in journalism or communications
- Writing skills of the highest standard, writing for both print and digital products
- You must have proven people and communication skills, and enjoy connecting with both readers and advertisers and serving their communication needs
- You should be self-motivated, able to work independently and to meet strict deadlines
- Research, conduct interviews and write original articles for print products
- The ability to write regular short news stories for online and social media publication
- Attend and report back on industry events
- Overall management of your brands
