Overview
To plan, direct and co-ordinate a comprehensive facilities management function for the Centurion Distribution Centre (DC) in order to ensure legal compliance, risk management procedures and strategies, appropriate asset management and high levels of security and execution.
Purpose and Objectives
• Ensure that the DC is OHASA compliant
• Manage the site services function by ensuring effective planned maintenance, service provider SLAs, compliance to company policies and relevant legislation.
• Manage the maintenance and repairs of the DC
• Establish, update and ensure effective resilience planning to meet company policy standards
• Ensure effective reporting and management of administrative requirements for the DC site services function
• Ensure effective liaison with all internal and external stakeholders
• Manage the DC maintenance budget within agreed parameters
• Ensure all materials handling equipment is maintained
• Ensure that the DC site security is well managed and fully compliant with company and external stakeholder requirements
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 (Essential)
• 3 year degree/diploma (Desirable)
• Qualification in Facilities Management or related e.g. SAMTRAC (Desirable)
• 3-5 years’ experience in Facilities Management of a large DC site services operation (Essential)
• Experience within a Facilities Management function in the Retail/FMCG industry (Desirable)
Job Knowledge:
• In depth knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) act and Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) act.
• Good understanding of SLA’s and their application
• Operational experience in a DC environment an advantage
Job Related Skills:
• Incident identification and investigation
• Computer Literate – MS Word, Excel and Outlook essential.
