The bursary programme aims ABSA to reach wider potential employees and also provides financial aids for full tuition fees for selected candidates. The fields of study needed by ABSA are LLB (Bachelor of Law), IT (Information Technology), Statistics, Data Science, Informatics, Actuarial Sciences, Engineering (Industrial, Financial or process), Risk or Investment Management, BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics), and other relevant mathematical sciences.
Criteria of Application
ABSA bursaries are open for undergraduate and postgraduate university students and will be assessed yearly based on candidates’ performance.  The requirements to be fulfilled are:
–              Applicants registered as full-time student in 2024 at an accredited South African university
–              Bachelor’s degree completion student
–              Undergraduate applicant must completed minimum 70% of first semester in the 2024 academic year
–              Clean from criminal records
–              For 2024 matriclulants, applicants have minimum of 80% examinations of June 2024
–              Applicants registered as full-time student in 2024 at an accredited South African university
Other Important terms and conditions to be noted by interested applicants are:
–              Applicants have not receive other scholarship
–              Applicants registered in South Africa’s Tertiary Education Institution
–              Selected applicants will be awarded the bursary after the final exam year result announced
–              Selected students are willing to sign employment contract with ABSA after graduation and placement of each employee is depend on business demand
–              Students are highly expected to complete the discipline per request by ABSA
–              Students possibly asked by ABSA to get involved in skills training and projects
–              ABSA funds only one qualification at a time and based on employment equity strategies
–              Current academic year final examinations results must be submitted before 15 January            2024
