About
The Access Trust bursary fund and support aims to help young lives who require the financial means to make the most out of their study opportunities. The Access Trust bursary has made young people in socio-economically vulnerable urban and rural communities their priority in their offerings.
These include students:
– Aged 18 – 27 who wish to enter full time study at public colleges in the Western Cape.
– Full time students at public colleges in the Western Cape.
– All applicants must have a completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
The financial structure that Access Trust is as follows:
– February 1st trimester payments
– March 1st semester payments
– September 2nd semester payments
– March 1st 50% Year programme payment June 2nd trimester payments
– September 2nd 50% Year programme payment Oct 3rd trimester payments
– Payments will only be made upon receipt of a college endorsed invoice, and up to date course results.
The Access Trust bursary fund and support services will not cover:
– NCV courses
– Students who already receive a bursary from another source
– Hair-dressing, beauty and cosmetology programmes
– Animation and 2D design Graphic design
How to apply
Download and complete the Access Trust Bursary Application Form (pdf).As well was, attach the following documents with application form:
– Certified copy ID document/ Refugee status/ Asylum Seeker status,
– Certified copy Matric academic history (all results) OR Full academic history.
– Parent/ guardians proof of income (3 months latest payslips/ proof of SASSA grant income/ affidavit if unemployed),
– Character reference from a school teacher/ community leader
– Motivational letter about why you should be awarded the bursary, your career plans, what and why you plan to study etc.

Qualifying criteria
The Access Trust bursary fund and support services will not cover:
NCV courses
Students who already receive a bursary from another source
Hair-dressing, beauty and cosmetology programmes
Animation and 2D design Graphic design
– Ages Between 18 and 28 years old,
– Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
– Achieved a minimum 50% pass rate,
– Proven financial need
– Must undertake studies at one of the following TVET colleges: College of Cape Town, South Cape College, West Coast College, Boland College, Northlink College, False Bay College.
