Ethics Specialist
A unique opportunity exists for a suitably qualified, dynamic and skilled person to join the Compliance and Ethics Department team based at Corporate Office.
The successful candidate, reporting to the Group Manager Compliance and Ethics will be responsible for the following:

Provide expert input and implement ethics processes to ensure the achievement of business objectives, within the ethical framework;

Assist in the development and implementation of an effective ethics program;

Ensure the promotion and assessment of the current state of ethics across the organization;

Develop, implement and maintain an effective anti-corruption program;
-
Assist in the development and implementation of an effective fraud and corruption program;
-
Manage the effectiveness and adequacy of risks associated with fraud and ethics;
-
Ensure close collaboration of all compliance activities with Risk Management and Internal Audit teams;
-
Research best practices in ethics governance to adopt and align it with organization’s practices;
-
Report to Management on ethical risks for business;

Provide feedback on effectiveness of Ethics Management;

Provide relevant specialized technical support/ advice to relevant stakeholders with regards to risks imposed to ACSA;
-
Plan, schedule, supervise and coach subordinate activities within processes or services to ensure sub-functional objectives are met or exceeded;

Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial action where required to ensure minimum risk to the company.
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:

A Bachelors’ Degree in Law/Auditing/Commerce is essential;

Certification as an Ethics Practitioner is essential;

6 – 8 years’ Operational experience in Ethics is essential;

Registration with the Ethics Institute of South Africa is recommended;

Solid working knowledge of Ethics processes, relevant legislation as well as fraud and corruption;

Proficiency in MS Office at intermediate level.
Competencies
The ideal candidate must be confident, customer-centric and portray exceptional communication skills. The ability to exercise good judgement when making decisions, whilst maintaining composure is critical. A high level of diplomacy and the ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst resolving problems using a combination of intuition and analytical thinking is critical. Lastly, the successful incumbent must be meticulous, act in line with the dominant values of the organization and set definite milestones to ensure the achievement of goals.
