About Alfred District Municipality                    
Alfred district in one of the 6 districts of Eastern Cape province of South Africa and the area include towns: Mount Ayliff, Mount Frere, Maluti, Malatiele, and in 2011 was expanded to Mbizana and Ntabankulu Local Municipality. The district was named after Alfred Baphethuxolo, the former Secretary-General of African National Congress and was Minister of Foreign Affairs in cabinet of Nelson Mandela from 1994 to 1999. Alfred district also known for its unspoiled nature and tourism.

• Bachelor of Science in Community Water Services
• Bachelor of Science in Water Resource Management
• Any other sanitation and water related fields
• Town and Regional Planning
• Civil Engineering
• Internal Auditing
• Accounting/Financial Management
• Environmental Health Management
• Environment Management
• Information Communication Technology/Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
• Geographic Information System

The Criterion For Bursaries
Alfred District Municipality bursaries has some requirements for applicants to meet and those are listed below:
             The applicants age must be between 16-35 years old
             Applicants from disadvantaged background will be given priority
             The bursaries awarded only to Alfred Nzo area of jurisdiction residents
             Applicants must have satisfying academic records
             Priorities are for students who need financial support
 
Steps of Applying for Bursaries
Applicants can submit the filled application form along with the required documents:

• Certified copy of valid ID
• Grade 12 certificate/latest results for current Grade 12 students
• Proof of acceptance from university or tertiary institution
• Motivation letter
• Residency proof from Ward CouncillorParents/guardian salary receipt or death certificate if parents deceased
