Breede Valley Municipality: 2024 Learnership Programme

The Breede Valley Municipality invites individuals who comply with the requirements set out below, to apply for participation in Learnership programmes commencing in 2024. The aim is to provide individuals the opportunity to secure a skill within a speci c trade and enhance employability within the local community. The focus area is SKILLS DEVELOPMENT within selected qualications that will ensure opportunities for individuals wanting to enhance the training. Applicants can apply for the following learnership programmes:
ROADWORKS Level 3 (SAQA ID 24173): This qualication is for persons who work or intend to work within roadwork construction. It is assumed that learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1. Minimum Criteria to enter this qualication:
- Learners with a pass in Grade 9
- Mathematical Literacy Grade 9
- Communication (Language) Grade 9
WELDING Level 2 (SAQA ID 57886): This qualication is for learners wanting to follow a career in welding. It is assumed that learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1. Minimum Criteria to enter this qualication:
- Learners with a pass in Grade 9
- Mathematical Literacy Grade 9
- Communication (Language) Grade 9
PAINTING Level 3 (SAQA ID 65490): This qualication is a sub- eld of construction and is for persons who want to work or intend to work within a construction context on or o site. It is assumed that learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2. Minimum Criteria to enter this qualication:
- Learners with a pass in Grade 10
- Mathematical Literacy Grade 10
- Communication (Language) Grade 10
Please take note the duration of the above-mentioned programmes is 12 months.
Additional minimum requirements:
- Applicants must reside within the area of the Breede Valley Municipality (Worcester, De Doorns, Rawsonville, Touws River).
- Only persons between the age groups of 18-25 will be considered.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in two of the official languages in the Western Cape.
