Minimum Requirements:
- B Degree Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or
- Electrical Engineers Certificate of Competency
- ECSA Registered (Pr Eng, /Pr Tech Eng, / Pr Cert Eng)
- 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Extensive experience in Municipal electrical distribution networks including metering
- Valid Driver’s Licence
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the Metering and Electrical Installations Section
- Manage the process to ensure that the Energy department revenue stream within the depot is optimized
- Manage the installation and maintenanceof prepayment & conventional meters, remote metering and AMR metering
- Manage the vending for pre-paid metering in the depot
- Manage the Capital and Operational Budgets of the Metering and Electrical Installation Sections
- Manage revenue based capital budget allocations
- Manage Customer Technical Education / Service initiatives
- Implement and manage key customer policy
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant Electricity by-laws
- Manage the compliance of Electrical Installations
- Plan and design meter related infrastructure
- Responsible to ensure that vending system details and vending system data are recorded correctly
- Manage the fleet, material and assets used and situated within the section
- Apply specialist knowledge in the field of electricity 3 phase and single phase metering
- Execute Governance and Risk Management, Council policies and municipal by-laws
