The Companies Tribunal invites applications for  IT and Supply Chain Management internship opportunities based in Pretoria. These positions are available on 12 month contract. Successful candidates will receive a stipend of R5 598.25 — R5 941.86 per month.
The Companies Tribunal is an agency of the dti established in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008. The Tribunal’s mandate is to adjudicate applicationsmade in terms of the Act; review decisions made by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) and serve as a forum for alternative dispute resolution in any matter arising under the Act.
1. INTERN: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (REF. 01/2024)
Requirements:

  • Applicants must be in possession of a matric certificate, National Diploma / B-Tech Degree / Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • A,-,N+ and MCITP/MCSE will be an added advantage
  • Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of corporate technologies and trends
  • Requisite computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office package and Operating Systems)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Must be between the ages of 18 to 35.

Responsibilities:

  • An Intern will participate in the following activities under supervision: Troubleshoot problems with hardware and software and provide appropriate solutions
  • Provide users with network access according to instructions provided by the management
  • Connect network peripherals such as printers and configure them to work properly
  • Install programs and software onto each computer according to the specific needs of the user
  • Ensure that computers and networks are secured by installing antivirus applications
  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance of computers and servers
  • Monitor the security of all technological members on a network
  • Handle data backup activities by ensuring appropriate running of backups
  • Assist users with their respective network accounts management
  • Identify hardware and software needs for the organisational improvement.

2. INTERN: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT  (REF. 02/2024)
Requirements:

  • Applicants must be in possession of a Three Year bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management / Logistics / Purchasing
  • No work experience is required
  • The applicant should not have served internship before or been employed
  • Requisite computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office package and Excel)
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Must be between the ages of 18 to 35.

Responsibilities:

  • An Intern will participate in the following activities under supervision: Providing support in the procuring and purchasing of goods and services
  • Source quotations for purchase in compliance with the regulations
  • Receive delivered goods and verify /sign delivery note/invoice against the purchase order
  • Prepare the SCM checklist for payment of suppliers ‘invoice; processing and forwarding invoices for payments
  • Utilise and follow National Treasury Central Supplier Database
  • Maintenance and record keeping of supplier documents and communicating with suppliers to source compliance documents
  • Ensure compliance to SCM policies and procedures, rules and regulations, legislative objectives and other related frameworks
  • Administer the end to end procurement process
  • Assist in providing secretariat services to the Bid Committees
  • Assist in preparing bid/tender advert documents for advertisements
  • Drive specific tasks as mandated by the Chief Financial Officer.
