Corporate Finance Internship at LiquidAfrica

LiquidAfrica invites applications for a 3 to 6 months Corporate Finance Internship based in Johannesburg (Sandton).The internship will be offered hands-on training and the opportunity to gain experience within the dynamic environment of Corporate Finance, though exposure to the different steps of M&A and capital raising transactions across various sectors. It will also give the trainee exposure to the buoyant Sub-Saharan Africa region.
The trainee will be expected to conduct research including data collection and analytics, in-depth financial statement analysis, build financial models, value companies using different methods, and prepare documents and presentations for use during discussions with external parties (e.g. clients, potential investors, strategic partners).
LiquidAfrica is a Corporate Finance and Advisory services firm, uniting capital with opportunities across the African continent. The company focuse on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) as well as equity and debt capital raising for growing and established companies in Africa.
Requirements

• Pursuing BA/MSc from leading business or engineering school
• Good command of Corporate Finance concepts
• Strong analytical and modelling skills
• Solid presentation skills
• Mastery of the Office suite
• Fluent in written and oral English, knowledge of either French or Portuguese is a plus

Qualities:

• Strong interest in emerging markets, and in Sub-Saharan Africa in particular
• Comfort with formulating analytical approaches in the absence of easily-available data
• Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and under pressure
• Well-developed sense of initiative
