Deloitte Vacation Programmes 2024
Vac Information
The Deloitte Vac programs are presented twice a year during the major university vacations – once in June/July and again in November/December/January.
Students can take part in and experience what Deloitte has to offer through the following:
YEP
Young Executives’ Program is aimed at Gr 11 and Gr 12 learners who have a keen interest in the CA Stream. This program is run over 2 days and allows school learners to learn more about the CA stream, Deloitte and the business world. It is a great way of exploring opportunities and creating networks at an early stage in one’s career.
Throughout the week, students will be facilitated by current trainees (ranging from 1st to 3rd year) who will introduce them to the basic concepts of auditing, provide information on Deloitte as well as give background as to their personal experiences!
Ultimately, the Intro is an experience that students will never forget and often becomes the start of a long and meaningful relationship with Deloitte and its people!
INTRO
The Intro program is a 3 day program designed for all 1st year (and 2nd year UCT Bus.Sci) CA stream students with the main objective of giving students a “taste” of the Deloitte firm, its vibe and its culture. Over the course of the 3 days, students have the opportunity to meet and network with fellow students as well as current trainees, managers and partners.

Advanced
The Advanced program is essentially an incubator for a student which unlocks their ability to perform meaningful work! It is primarily aimed at 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students with an auditing theory background from varsity. Throughout the course of the 5 day program, students will be updated by current trainees (ranging from 1st to 3rd year) on the latest auditing and accounting developments in the industry through practical examples and structured course material. Each student is also provided with a laptop for use during the week, which allows them to learn and experience a simulated auditing environment!
Although the Advanced program covers more technical aspects than the Intro, there is also a huge focus on giving the students a feel for Deloitte & our culture. Throughout the week we encourage fun and interactive activities through which students can network and meet the future faces of Deloitte!
Attendance of the Advanced program is a pre-requisite to performing Field Work.
Field Work
Field Work is primarily aimed at giving students that have completed the Advanced program’s training the opportunity to be part of a Deloitte audit engagement team. The students will assist their respective audit teams with the completion of fieldwork out at the client premises and as such, will have an opportunity to meet, work with and learn first-hand from current trainees, managers and partners!
The duration of Field Work ranges from 1 to 4 weeks depending on the needs of the audit team and the client. In order to attend Field Work, students must have completed the Advanced program training.
