MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage the demand control process within the S&OP process with key input into S&OP cycle meetings ( marketing alignment meetings , Finance Reconciliation & Supply planning meetings
  • Provides rolling demand forecasts by customer by sku for the short to medium term (1 to 12 month) and longer term (13 to 24 month) forecast by sku for each sub category and business
  • Continuously undertake SKU analysis and trending to support the Sales and Marketing teams, and promote most accurate forecasts by also analyzing deviations and initiating resolutions with relevant stakeholders on a rolling weekly and monthly basis. Place emphasis on analysis of promotional activity and demand plan misses by week and month culminating in a strong Demand Planning processes. Share the learnings with the broader team (Sales, Supply and Marketing)
  • Drive achievement of Kpi’s i.e. forecast accuracy, forecast bias, Hi/Lo tool, and optimize the information available from the Demand Planning system to provide insights to the business and key stakeholders, and drive an optimum integrated business planning system
  • Ensure the demand planning cadence is following timeously every month to ensure the demand number is rolled up monthly to deliver on business targets
  • Place emphasis on process improvement of demand planning in line with Demand Planning Best Practice
  • Participate in projects within the Twinsaver Group, and is a key member in all NPD projects
  • Use appropriate statistical models and parameters, and enrich statistical forecast to generate accurate base demand forecast per customer and category
  • Focus on and deliver a stable demand plan, but taking into account appropriately recent events, along with achievement of Demand Plan Accuracy and cleansing of the Data
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales by providing input on a regular basis regarding product launches, portfolio optimization, rationale of commercial decisions, promotions and customer behavior
  • Ensure commitment from all functions, build and maintain good communication and collaboration both within Supply Chain and with Marketing, Manufacturing and Finance, according to the Monthly IBP cycle
  • Managing the risk of Obsolete/Slow moving stock in the business with key stakeholders
  • Key participation in sales plan development through integrated business management demand review
  • Consistently improve Demand Plan Accuracy and drive systematic forecast bias through detailed analyses of past performance and conducting root cause analysis
  • Developing a process to gather, quantify and manage assumptions and effectively execute on a weekly / monthly basis
  • Service level reporting and ensuring service levels are maintained by managing orders or alerting sales team if sales demand cannot be met.
  • Eliminating bias from the forecasting process and optimize the forecasts to the benefit of the business
  • Ensuring the demand review coordinating on behalf of Sales and Marketing Director
  • Collaborating with external customer with regard to Demand Planning
  • Lead Demand Planning team. Build Bench strength and skills improvement for Direct Reports

REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric
  • 3 Year commercial degree / diploma, preferably in Commerce / Supply Chain or related qualification
  • CPF or CPIM will be advantageous
  • Code 8 drivers licence
  • At least 6 to 7 years’ experience in Supply Chain Environment
  • Experience in FMCG / Retail environment an advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure as well as to apply prioritization abilities
  • Interact effectively through communication, building trust and strategic working relationships, managing conflict, negotiation, gaining commitment and sales
  • Building relationships with both the Commercial team & Supply Chain team
  • Inspiring others to action, follow-up and facilitating change
