Manage the strategic research agenda of the Department to ensure evidence-based policy making process. Maintain appropriate controls, procedures and reporting systems in order to meet performance expectations of the Branch and adhere to Public Finance Management Act, Public Service Act and other relevant statutory requirements required in the public service. Duties: Ensuring that risk management processes are embedded throughout the public entities as and when they are required over the MTEF period. Providing assistance on developing and negotiating shareholder compact and governance frameworks annually as required by the applicable prescripts. Ensure that SOCs comply with the relevant legislation governing their operations, and applicable laws such as the PFMA, the Public Audit Act (2004), and Companies Act (2008), procurement and other laws through establishing a structured compliance function within the unit. Duties: Manage processes to ensure the optimal functioning of the Departmental Internal Audit Unit in line with the Internal Audit Charter and statutory imperatives • Develop, manage and account for the implementation of the departmental Annual Internal Audit Plan and the Rolling Three Year Plan and other internal audit engagements across business units and processes. Ensure IT Service Provider and service level management of IT and IM services provided to the department.
