Requirements
The successful candidate must have a grade 12 plus a 3 year tertiary qualification in Library and Information Services. post graduate qualification will be an added advantage. 2-3 years of experience in Library systems, databases and electronic resources. A valid driver’s license. Knowledge: Comprehensive and detailed knowledge resources. Financial management systems/Basic accounting system (BAS), Community library services conditional grant strongly recommended. Knowledge of PFMA, treasury regulations and library prescripts. Skills: Strategic planning; Policy analysis and development; Planning and Organizing; Decision making; Project management; Communication; Computer literacy; Interpersonal relations; budgeting, analytical thinking and research.
Duties
Develop policies in terms of the usage of electronic resources at provincial level. Provide technical assistance to the municipalities and ensuring that there is compliance in all electronic resources to municipalities. Responsible for collection development for E resources platform. Responsible for the identification, renewal of the subscriptions, E-services and resources. Implementation of visually impaired workstations. Conduct training on the usage of E resources, compile statistics analyze and disseminate reports to municipal managers.
