The execution of the Military Integrated Environmental Management (MIEM) function takes place at middle management and executional level of the organization within the Logistics Division (Directorate Facilities). The sub-directorate Environmental Services consists of four dedicated environmental posts responsible for the overall management of the environmental function as well as developing, formulating and promulgating environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
The corporate environmental programmes and projects are managed by the sub-directorate Specialist Environmental Services at the DOD Logistic Support Formation (DOD Log Sup Fmn) and this structure is also responsible for expert functional advice and assistance in the implementation of environmental management in the DOD.
