Job description
The Digital Account Manager (DAM) handles a wide range of assignments, projects and/or clients with a high degree of success and independence. The DAM demonstrated a high-level professional knowledge and skills. Should be able to manage large accounts.
Have project management, budgeting, counseling, programme, people management and emerging business development skills. Takes responsibility for the projects he/she manages, providing excellent client service, applying the office’s best resources, effectively managing people involved in projects and managing for profitable growth.
As the DAM demonstrates the ability and wherewithal to deliver on the vision, performance requirements and growth projections.
Responsibilities:
- Manages client expectations under the direction/ leadership of the Business
- Develops and manages projects/programmes, including implementation plans, evaluation mechanisms, staffing plans, budgets and timelines.
- Is client’s primary day-to-day contact on projects/ accounts, is the contact for the full account and has client’s respect, trust and confidence.
- Reporting to senior management on account or project development and creating reports for clients
- Allocate resources and teams to new projects / issues
- Develops presentations for clients relative to project management/programme status.
- Keeps team(s) appropriately informed and involved in projects.
- Identifies and secures help on emerging account problems.
- Is able to articulate and apply agency vision, goals, practice areas, products and overall capabilities.
- Understands all elements of the marketing mix and understand the PR role in a 360 marketing environment in order to ensure integrated and holistic campaigns
- Develops accurate project budgets and monitors them effectively
- Oversees timely development and distribution of bills and activity reports.
- Delegates effectively.
- Routinely recommends and implements solutions when problems arise.
- Assists peers in problem-solving.
- Routinely seeks and shares information with colleagues.
- Participates actively in team, staff and client meetings.
- Works with business director to identify and address training, leadership and career development needs.

Requirements
Prerequisite qualifications:
- Matric essential
- Related tertiary qualification
Job Experience and Technical Skills:
- Four to eight years’ experience as an accounts manager or a similar role
- Have an ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- An expert in all things digital
- Have a proven ability to build relationships with clients and co-workers
- Provides leadership in building effective, productive account teams.
- Anticipates and assists in developing solutions to client needs and problems.
- Be confident, resourceful, decisive, and willing to take initiative
- Be able to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team, while fostering a collaborative and harmonious work environment
- Be able to keep cool under pressure and help others do the same
- Has full understanding of public relations and a demonstrated ability to achieve public relations objectives.
- Understands business trends for industry segment/products.
- Understands the creative process and how to work effectively with internal and external creative resources.
- Has established a circle of industry editorial, investment community, professional and/or third-party group contacts.
- Has strong presentation skills and plays an increasingly active role in new business and client presentations.
