MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
Diploma/ Degree in General Nursing, Midwifery and Psychiatry
Proof of current registration with SANC
A Minimum of 8 years’ experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with South African Nursing council in General Nursing
At least 3 years of the period referred above must be a proof of previous experience appropriate / recognizable experience at Management level
Proof of current and previous working experience / certificate of service endorsed by Human Resource to be attached
RECOMMENDATION
Degree/Diploma in Nursing Management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETANCES REQUIRED
Knowledge of nursing care process and procedures , nursing and other relevant legal framework.
Financial and budgetary knowledge pertaining to the relevant resource s under Management.
Insight into procedures and policies pertaining to nursing care.
Leadership, Organizational, Decision making and problem solving abilities within the limit of public sector and institutional framework.
Interpersonal skills including public relations, negotiating conflict handling and counseling skills.
Computer skills in basic programmes
Knowledge of SANC rules and regulations
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Delegate, supervise and coordinate the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care.
Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures.
Manage Human Resources
Monitor and ensure proper utilization of financial and physical resources.
Initiate and participate in health promotion to ensure consisted communication of relevant, accurate and comprehensive information on health care.
Develop/establish and maintain constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders(i.e. inter-proffesional, inter- sectoral and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
Overall supervision of the whole institution during the night.
Provision of effective support to nursing services.
