PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To efficiently operate equipment in the Will Cutter Section so that optimum production rate is maintained on a continuous basis and in compliance with SHEQ.
REPORTING TO: PRODUCTION FOREMAN
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Remove rolls from vari-roll winder timeously.
  • Supply rolls to wrapping stations.
  • Supply work in progress rolls to sheeter.
  • Arrange reels in correct length sequence (colour coding).
  • Assist in physical stocktake.
  • Remove broke bins from Finishing.
  • Pallet line supply pallets and arrangement of pallets on palletizer de-stacker.
  • Space creation in Finishing House by rearranging stocks.
  • Carrying out vehicle pre-operating checklist & reporting of defects.
  • Ensure equipment is fuelled & cleaned on a daily basis.
  • Operate hyster in accordance with laid-down safety procedures.
  • Arrangement of raw materials for cartomizer and ream wrapper.
  • Loading of reels on the back stand during reel changes.
  • Removing of packaging waste to the scrap yard.
  • Supplying glue, plastic and strapping material to the packaging line.
  • Identify and take corrective action in terms of SHEQ conditions and hazards.
  • Maintaining a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as per Supervisors request.

KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS

  • Problem solving
  • Knowledge of ISO standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Full N1 Pulp/Paper and/or Engineering AND TWO N2 subjects / NQF Level 4 Paper Board
  • Clamp Truck Driver License
  • Computer literate, advantageous
  • Six (6) months working experience in a manufacturing industry
