Digby Wells and Associates (Pty) Ltd was formed in January 1995 by three partners – Digby Wells, Ken van Rooyen and Graham Trusler – all three previously from the Environmental Management Department of Rand Mines. The company is named after the late Mr Digby Wells, who made a significant and lasting contribution to the environmental management field in South Africa.
Graham Trusler is the current Chief Executive Officer of Digby Wells & Associates, who ensures the company remains driven by the mission of being the premier environmental and social services provider to the resources industry in Africa.
Digby Wells Environmental, a service provider to the resources industry, is looking for a candidate for the position of Finance intern in our Bryanston office.
A Finance Intern will contribute to our organisational goals by ensuring the effective administration and management of the organisation’s finance system.
Job Objectives:
■ Process receipts into the cashbook.
■ Accurately manage and process the petty cash and ensure supporting documentation is available.
■ Undertake to capture and recover all debts that are outstanding and/or due to the organisation.
■ Create and distribute all invoices on behalf of the organisation.
■ Ensure all financial administration is accurately completed. (Files, scanning invoices etc.)
■ Address any queries relating to debtors.
■ Effective administration of the tender and vendor process.
■ Assist in the balance sheet and income statement reconciliation.
■ Assist in preparing audit schedules.
■ Assist in the compilation of the Creditors Reconciliation
■ Filing of documents.
Requirements:
■ Working knowledge of financial principles (Debtors, invoicing, etc.); and
■ The mining and consulting industry would be beneficial.
Qualifications:
BCom Degree in Accounting/Finance An all-inclusive remuneration package will be on offer.
