Gauteng Province CoGTA: Bursaries for 2024 (Under/ Post Graduates Studies)
The Head of Department of the Gauteng Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) invites registered and admitted undergraduate and postgraduates students to apply for bursaries to undertaken full-time studies in the 2024 academic year.

CoGTA is offering 20 bursaries, 6 of which are earmarked for dependents of military veterans (confirmation of registration in this regards must be attached). Applications must pursue full-time undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the following fields:
- Corporate Communications
- Development Planning
- Engineering and Town Planning Infrastracture
- Development Related studies
- Finance and Accounting
- Human Resource Mangement
- Information and Communication Technology
- Governance and Risk,
- Inter-Governmental Relation,
- Law Municapal Governance
- Office Management and
- Policy and Research
The Bursary covers: Tuition and registration fees, prescribed books and/or study material and is limited to the value of R 30,000.00 per learner, for the 2024 academic year.
Requirements: Applicants must be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35, completed grade 12, applicants must reside in Gauteng, already registered at an accredited institution within Gauteng.
How to Apply
INSTRUCTIONS: Selection of successful candidates will be strictly based on academic merit. Applicants are expected to study at an accredited South African tertiary institution within Gauteng. It is the student’s responsibility to seek/obtain admission with a tertiary institution. The bursary is for post/under graduate qualifications of no less than 360 NQF Credits. Successful candidates will be required to enter into a Bursary Contract. CoGTA has no obligation to employ the bursary holder on completion of the qualification. Applicants should not hold concurrent bursaries or financial study assistance from other organisations/institutions. The Department is committed to Employment Equity; therefore preference will be given to candidates from disadvantaged groups. Candidates in the Affirmative Action categories are particularly encouraged to apply. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Failure to provide any of the required documents in a manner that is prescribed will result in disqualification of the application and as such deemed non-responsive.

Pre-selected applicants will be required to provide parents’/guardians proof of income. Certified copies of the following must accompany applications: Most recent academic record. South African Identity Document.
