CCMDD PROVINCIAL CO-ORDINATOR
PURPOSE:
Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint a Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) Provincial Co-ordinator to provide provincial support and co-ordinate processes related to the provision of an alternative chronic medication access programme for public sector patients. The Provincial Co-ordinator will be responsible for oversight of the CCMDD programme in the Province, provide training support to districts, and draft monthly provincial reports on aspects relevant to the CCMDD programme. The position is based in the Gauteng Province.
This is a fixed-term contract position, renewable basedon continuation of funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build relationships with district and provincial stakeholders to support policy implementation
- Monitor and track amendments in policies across the districts, and support change management
- Share and facilitate the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools
- Support provincial health structures regarding training requirements to facilitate the contracting of private pick-up points (PuPs) as identified by the District
- Provide guidance on monitoring of CCMDD service providers’ and PuPs’ adherence to service-level agreements and facilitate implementation of corrective measures
- Support provincial health structures with development and review of the CCMDD project plan in consultation with Districts regarding facility enrolment targets, patient enrolment targets, the communication and promotion strategy, orientation and training, and monitoring and evaluation framework implementation
- Provide mentorship to districts/provinces to ensure effective and efficient project implementation including implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system aligned to the framework.
- Provide monthly provincial reports on all aspects related to the CCMDD programme
- Provide input and support during provincial/district meetings
- Ensure documentation and archiving of project information, tools, SOPs developed, solutions to challenges and best practices
- Manage the financial aspects of project implementation
- Provide input on proposals related to expertise.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a degree in a health-related field, as well as registration with the relevant statutory body
- A postgraduate degree in health sciences or extensive experience in health sector management would be an advantage.
- Project Management training will be an advantage.
Experience
- At least five years’ experience in health or social development and project management.
Competencies and skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical services management; health systems strengthening; TB and HIV programmes; monitoring and evaluation, and the South Africa’s public health sector, the District Health System and key health policies
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Contract and supply chain management
- Research and analytical skills
- Presentation skills
- Excellent command of English, both verbal and written
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness and ability to travel.
REMUNERATION
A salary package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications and in line with HST’s job grading system will be offered.
