iSchool Africa presents the #AIDSFreeGen Campaign
iSchool Press Team is proud to present a South African DREAMS Campaign that aims to mobilise the youth to create an #AIDS-Free Generation.
A partnership between iSchool Press Team, as part of iSchoolAfrica and PEPFAR (The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief)
The campaign is a partnership with DREAMS and PEPFAR to reduce new HIV infections among adolescent girls and young women in sub-Saharan Africa.
The goal is to help all young people be DREAMS – Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Aids-Free, Mentored and Safe.
The iSchool Press Team campaign asks learners to inspire their schools and communities to become an #AIDSFREEGEN by creating a social media campaign and a 2 minute call-to-action film.
The learners could win great prizes for the most inspiring, impactful and creative messages and films.
They can choose any one of these themes for their film:
- “I want an #AIDSFREEGEN because…”
- “We can create an #AIDSFREEGEN by…”
- “How to live the “Aids-Free DREAMS way…”
To join the movement, learners can set up a press team at their school or sign up as an individual by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , include information about themselves, where are they from and why they want to join.
Shoot their 2 minute film, upload it on Dropbox and send the link to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
The final submission of films is 31 July 2024.
The iSchool Press Team will give learners training to help them create their own campaign and film on issues that affect them and their communities.
“In seven years we have heard from 60 youth media clubs and 1500 youth have been trained and their powerful films distributed. Join us and be part of this inspiring movement”, says Michelle Lissoos, Director of iSchoolAfrica.
Training resources are available for learners on iSchool Press Team website below
Learners are also invited to attend a training workshop on 6 May 2024, 8:30am to 1:30pm at Kloof High School Hall, 34 Emolweni Road, Kloof, Durban.
