An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the right qualifications and experience to manage all Long Term Insurance functions and duties within Ithala Insurance Division.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to:
∙Evaluate market trends and developments in the Long Term Insurance industry.
∙Develop and manage an operations strategy for Long Term Insurance.
∙Manage Ithala Credit Life Insurance product and funeral schemes
∙Responsible for achieving long term sales targets
∙Drive long-term sales strategy
∙Perform risk surveys as required
∙Formulate and implement the operations strategy and business plan with consideration of market industry and further evaluate on an on-going basis with emphasis on risk & compliance for division and its staff.
∙Manage Ithala client portfolio including the claims assessment and renewals
∙Ensure all processes and procedures within long-term comply with FAIS regulations
∙Maintain relationships with existing clients.
∙Coordinate role players by maintaining communication and training staff and management.
∙Manage insurance staff and their FAIS Accreditation
The following minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position:
∙Grade 12
∙B Com degree or equivalent tertiary qualification and complete Commercial FAIS accreditation including Regulatory Exam 1 ( Key Individual)
∙Minimum (5) years’ underwriting experience and claims experience.
∙Minimum (5) years’ experience in the Long Term Insurance environment with further emphasis on Sales and Marketing
∙At least (5) years’ experience in credit life and funeral product knowledge and development.
∙Proven management experience.
∙Code 08 drivers’ License.
∙Thorough knowledge of the long term insurance industry and insurance broking including all relevant legislation (i.e. Long Term Insurance Act, National Credit Act, FICA, Consumer Protection Act).
∙Computer skills in MS Office.
∙Ability to work in a pressurised environment and be prepared to travel extensively.
∙Must be results orientated and efficient in meeting targets.
∙Good planning, organising and analytical skills.
∙Excellent customer service skills.
∙High level of numerical accuracy.
