Certified copies of Highest Educational Qualifications- not copies of certified copies. Curriculum Vitae with full record of service
Recently certified copy of Identity Document not more than three months – not copy of a copy
The reference number must be indicated in the column provided on form Z83, e.g. Reference Number (GTN07/2024).

REMUNERATION : An all-inclusive package consists of 70% basic salary and 30% flexible portion that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules.
OTHER BENEFITS: COMMUTED OVERTIME , 22% Rural Allowance of Basic Salary
SALARY AND APPOINTMENTS REQUIREMENTS:
Medical Officer Grade 1: R736 425.00 – R793 341.00 per annum
•Appropriate qualifications in the Health Science – MBChB
•Registration with HPCSA as Medical Officer
•Foreign candidates require 1 year relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign health professional council, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service.
Medical Officer Grade 2: R842 028.00 – R920 703.00 per annum
•Appropriate qualification in the Health Science – MBChB
•Initial registration and current registration with HPCSA
•5 years relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Officer (Certificates of service must be attached).
•Foreign candidates require 6 years relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign health professional council, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service (certificates of service must be attached).
Medical Officer Grade 3: R977 199.00 – R1221 723.00 per annum
•Appropriate qualifications in the Health Science – MBChB
•Initial registration and current registration with HPCSA
•10 years relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Officer. (Certificates must be attached).
•Foreign candidates require 11 years relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign health professional council, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service (certificates of service must be attached).
RECOMMENDATIONS:
•Diploma in O&G, HIV and Anaesthetics will be an added advantage.
NB: Proof of experience and/ or certificates of service are compulsory and must have complete dates and months, and must be attached to determine experience and grading.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:-
•General skills as a Medical Officer are required.
•Ability to diagnose and manage common medical and surgical conditions, including emergencies at a
District Hospital
•General skills as a Medical Officer are required.

•Excellent communication skills and ability to teach and train staff within team.
•Ability to work and maintain meaningful relationship within diverse community.
•Ability to make a difference and improve the health of the community – application of preventative and curative medicine.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
•Provide medical services at the department appointed to.
•Have clinical skills in general medicine, management of HIV/AIDS/TB, MDR AND XDR TB, Anaesthetics, Psychiatry, O&G and Surgery at District level.
•Assist, facilitate and participate in quality of care, assisting team members with quality assurance, quality improvements projects, morbidity and mortality reviews, monthly audits, development of clinical guidelines and policies as per specialty and disease profile.
•Ensure patient satisfaction and undertake patient satisfaction surveys and reducing waiting time’s surveys.
•Active participation in training interns, community service doctor and junior staff.
•Maintain and continuously improve professional and ethical standards.
•Instill confidence in public service and also in medical profession through exemplary behavior.
•Participation in after hour work is mandatory.
•Clinical responsibilities including examinations, investigating, diagnosis and overseeing the treatment of patients in the relevant department.
•Maintain and teach junior colleagues about appropriate and accurate health records in accordance with legal/ ethical and continuity of the patient care.
•Undertake performance management of staff they supervise.
