Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant
Job Location: Durban
The Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing OVSA monitoring and evaluation activities when required as per an agreed-upon contractual basis
Responsibilities:
- Assessment of OVSA monitoring and evaluation plan and to identify gaps and or activities
- Further develop and implement qualitative monitoring and evaluation project frameworks
- Modify and/or design additional data management, collection and reporting systems, and monitor the progress thereof
- Modify and design our project database to capture all data required for monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Facilitate training to capacitate OVSA staff to implement monitoring and evaluation strategy and analyse project activities
- Manage monitoring and evaluation function to ensure that project activities are implemented effectively and are fully aligned to meet indicators as per grant agreement
- Assistance with data collection, analysis and preparation of reports
- Ensure that key learnings throughout projects are recorded
- Present analytical progress and evaluation reports throughout reporting cycles
- Ensure compliance with all funder-reporting requirements
- Perform statistical analyses and write ad hoc reports for various projects
Requirements:
- Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation/Research, Development Studies or equivalent
- Minimum five years of experience in the development, analysis and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems within the NGO or research sectors
- Demonstrated experience in building staff monitoring and evaluation capacity, including training and mentoring skills
- Experience in knowledge management – ability to document, analyse, and disseminate information
- Understanding of the South African education system
- Organisational and technical writing skills
- Willingness to travel and to conduct spot checks as and when needed and possess valid driver’s license and own vehicle
