About the Position
SKA SA seeks to appoint a Lead System Engineer (Infrastructure and Power) to join our team based in Rosebank, Johannesburg. The successful incumbent will report to the Senior Manager: Infrastructure Projects.

Minimum education requirement:
- Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
- Formal qualification in System Engineering
Minimum work experience required:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Senior System Engineer, delivering system engineering for large complex systems
Duties include:
- Ensuring all requirements are defined and documented in the specifications
- Mentoring an identified Junior Engineer (and others) to fulfil this role in the future
- Definition of all external interfaces to other work packages
- Definition of all internal infrastructure and power interfaces
- Ensure that verification events/procedures are defined and documented for all requirements
- Execute and/or audit the execution of these verification events
- Capture the verification results, and present the current status in compliance matrices
- Ensuring, with assistance of the Logistics Engineer: Infrastructure and Power, that all ILS aspects are addressed
- Ensuring, with assistance of the Configuration Controller, that all configuration management aspects are addressed, including audits and baselines
- Lean and/or participate in audits (physical configuration audits, functional configuration audits)
- Attend and participate in design reviews and technical work sessions
