Magoebaskloof Spring Festival 2024
Each year, the sleepy town of Haenertsburg comes abuzz with activity with their annual spring festival. The 2024 Magoebaskloof Spring Festival runs from 23 September- 1 October 2024 at the prestigious Magoebaskloof Hotel.
Horticuluralists from all over the Limpopo Province flock to Haenertsburg to marvel over a myriad of colourful flower displays. Veritable highlights include the orchid exhibition, where visitors are privy to varietals of different colours and sizes. Alternatively, stroll through the Cheerio Gardens, a haven known for its Japanese flowers, cherry blossoms, azaleas and crab apples.
If you aren’t much of a flower person, there is still a lot to do and see. If you’re a fan of arts and crafts, there are numerous stalls for you to peruse and if you see anything you like, memorabilia for you to take home. Here you’ll find an assortment of ceramics, earthernware, mosaics and jewellery. If you’re looking for homemade, quality fashions, you’re bound to find something you like at the clothing market. Alternatively, if you like your hand lotions and bath salts, handmade soaps and organic lotions are also available for purchasing.
For the foodies, there is a hall dedicated entirely to food. Nibble on smelly cheeses, homemade preserves, homemade sweets and biscuits, or event stock up on padkos for the drive back home!
While in the area, take the opportunity to explore Haenertsburg and surrounds. There are plenty of outdoor activities to take part in, including horse riding, mountain biking and fly fishing.
