About the Position
Major Activities 

  • Maintaining contact with the accreditation and assurance bodies via the line-manager and P: ATA, as appropriate.
  • Forwarding newly designed courses/amended courses to accreditation and/or clients and monitor feedback information.
  • Maintaining an integral database of all qualifications registered with the relevant Authorities, updating the academy’s Programs and Qualifications as required.
  • Ensuring that all ATA trainers presenting training in accordance with the SA CARS, and other industry regulations are suitably qualified in terms of Instructional techniques and licensed in accordance with the SA CARS and SA CATS, and other industry regulations.
  • Planning and conduct at least two annual proficiency assessments for all Academy trainers in order to ensure that high standards of instruction prevail individually and collectively.
  • Maintaining records to indicate completion of the standards maintenance programme in accordance with planned arrangements.
  • Monitoring corrective/remedial actions as appropriate to proficiency action plans.
  • Evaluating requests for use of visiting lecturers submitted by ATA departments in accordance with accreditation criteria and monitor proficiency of approved visiting lecturers.
  • Reviewing the approved visiting lecturer list annually.
  • Liaising with accreditation agencies, as required, in order to ensure compliance with accreditation conditions, requirements and prescriptions.
  • Assessing and ensuring that the ATA complies with all accreditation and certification requirements as per accreditation agreements and legislation.
  • Facilitating the processes of approval for new qualifications and training streams.
  • Ensuring availability and distribution of Manuals of Procedure as required by accrediting authorities on dates determined by such authorities.
  • Conducting pre-accreditation audits, when required, in order to ensure adequate preparation exists prior to the actual accreditation audits.
  • Formulating, implementing and evaluating action plans that may result from pre-accreditation audits in order to ensure adequate preparation for planned accreditation audits (when required).
  • Arranging for and host all accreditation visits and site audits.
  • Ensuring audit fees are paid within an acceptable period after each audit.
  • Coordinating the review of Academy Annual Handbook and other related documents.
  • Monitoring the quality and standards of teaching and learning.
  • Maintaining and reviewing the academy’s assessment policies, including RPL.
  • Managing the integrity of the tests/exams/assessments, results, graduation and certification.
  • Managing the administration of all RPL assessments conducted at the ATA.
  • Ensuring the currency of the Assessor and Moderator portfolio as required by the relevant Quality Council.
  • Monitoring the quality and standards of assessments.
    Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Education or equivalent

Minimum Experience

  • Seven(7) years Educational Quality Assurance experience with management experience;
  • Experience in liaising with the National Regulator (SACAA) in maintaining Training Organisations’ accreditation essential.
