Key Job Responsibilities:
- Training logistical planning and year scheduling for each academic year
- Plan and complete photography course outlines
- Facilitate review/evaluation of photography courses, photography curriculum content and staff
- Liaise with trainers/presenters, assessors , curriculum co-ordinators etc. about photography curriculum content, course schedules , outcomes, assessment ,recruitment and reviewing evaluations
- Ensure policies and guidelines on recruitment, training, assessment , etc. are developed , implemented adhered to, reviewed
- Conduct academic staff training to develop relevant competencies and professionalism
- Yearly: develop , consolidate and revise photography curriculum outcomes and course materials with input from relevant stakeholders
- Contribute towards developing unit standards
- Co-ordinate accreditation process
- Maintain budget and financial reports related to courses and curriculum
- Prepare contracts and process invoices timeously
- Drive the research and development of course outlines, curriculum documents and other learning and teaching support material
Key Competence Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in photography practices
- Relevant tertiary qualification – either in Photography and / or Visual Arts including Education and Training. Preferably post-graduate.
- Experience and understanding of curriculum development in the relevant SETA context
- Research experience in the education/visual arts / photography field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of photography including media in SA, Africa and Globally.
