MARKET PHOTO WORKSHOP SEEKS MANAGER
The Market Theatre Foundation, Business Unit: Market Photo Workshop has a vacancy for a Manager Public Programmes and Development on a 5-year fixed term contract.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Conceptualise and develop gallery and public programmes that includes curating exhibitions, participatory workshops, seminars and mentorships in photography
- Develop and implement project plans including logistical design and time frames
- Leverage media in consultation with Marketing Manager to ensure publicity of both projects and courses
- Ensure optimal use of finances, equipment, infrastructure and human resource within public programmes
- Assist and participate in the fund-raising strategy for Market Photo Workshop
- Manage the quality assessment process for photography projects
- Establish links with other minded organisations, including Alumnus of Market Photo Workshop, in order to partner, network and collaborate in raising the profile of photography in terms of appreciation and understanding
- Ensure regional, continental and international integration in photography programmes
Key Competence Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year management experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in creative/cultural and visual art projects
- Relevant tertiary qualification in photography, visual arts and cultural management
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Understand corporate governance
- Interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
