Marketing, Sales & Public Relations Graduate Programme at Durban ICC 2024
The Durban ICC is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Marketing, Sales & Public Relations assistant.
The incumbent will be required to perform tasks supporting the marketing, sales, business development and public relations functions within the Durban ICC which is a 24 hour business.
The incumbent will report directly to the Marketing and Sales Manager or appointed representative.
The graduate must have completed their qualification within the past twenty-four months.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualifications
• University degree / Diploma or similar tertiary certification in Marketing Management / Tourism / PR / Communications.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
Experience and knowledge required
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Excellent guest relations skills.
• Switchboard experience advantageous.
• Reception / Information Desk experience advantageous.
• Sales experience advantageous.
• Research experience advantageous.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE
• Developing information management structures within the context of the EBMS system to support the organisation’s CRM activities.
• Ensuring that the database of potential and existing clients of the organisation is kept up to date and relevant to the sales and marketing activities of the organisation.
• Preparing and presenting relevant reports to support the strategic decision making processes of the organisation with particular focus on business conversion.
• To make a positive contribution to the growth in sales revenue resulting in the positioning of the Centre as a preferred destination for international and national conferences, exhibitions and events.
• Welcome visitors, establish the nature of their business and direct them to the appropriate individual.
• Ensures knowledge of events taking place in the venue to be able to satisfy basic client queries.
• Provide concierge services to guests attending conferences and events.
• Assists with guest relations regarding feedback from clients and guests.
• Conducts site tours for the Durban ICC complex when requested.
• Handles telephonic enquiries for Marketing, Sales and Events.
