Multimedia Design 2024/2025 Internship Opportunity
Job purpose:
A multimedia designer who can work on the exciting Cosmopolitan brand both digitally and in print.
The ideal candidate must be conceptually strong and demonstrates outstanding craft skills. Must be a digital native who can design in a range of mediums for digital channels, as well as traditional print channels.
Must be motivated, passionate and active team player who can produce and craft original work. Must be proactive, able to take instruction and direction and willing to be agile in their skill set and range of work produced.
Be a skilled producer of:
- Illustrations
- Gifs
- Memes
- Flat lays
- Stop-motion animations
- Print layouts be able to edit:
- InDesign artworks and designs
- Video content Be proficient in:
- InDesign
- Photoshop
- Final cut pro
- Must prioritise workflow according to material deadlines and work closely with managers to manage timeously
- Be a talented and proficient designer with strong design capabilities, necessary technical knowledge, a love of magazines and digital content
- Able to edit basic video
- Keen eye for photography
- Styling and visual mood setting
- Able to work within the existing corporate image/brand guidelines
- Insight and understanding of traditional print and digital requirements
- Able to work on short deadlines and under pressure
- An ability to work in a team with good communication skills
- Ensure that all deadlines are met timeously
- Be detail orientated and prepared to work long hours when necessary
- Have initiative and a strong design work ethic and able to interpret verbal briefs and bring concepts come to life

Personal requirements:
- A degree or diploma in graphic design/design communication or similar
- Competent in the following software: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro and Illustrator
- Web design, photography and/or video editing is a plus
- Good planning and organising skills
- High level of organisational and effective time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, multi-task, prioritises and handles a diverse workload
- Decisive, proactive, motivated, enthusiastic, self-disciplined, problem solver
- Attention to detail, utmost professionalism and discretion to be applied in reflecting the company profile.
