MWR Info Security Internship Programme 2024
Want to spend two weeks developing your hacking skills and gaining exposure to the field of information security?!
At MWR South Africa, we do internships slightly differently. Our internship lasts two weeks and provides an introduction to web application hacking. We will equip you with the knowledge, tools, and environment required to excel at this.
Things you’ll do include:
- Receiving an introduced to common web application vulnerabilities
- Conducting your own assessment of an intentionally vulnerable web application
- Developing your own proof-of-concept scripts to exploit a series of vulnerabilities
- Receiving daily presentations from experienced consultants on various disciplines within the field of information security
In addition to the above, you will be expected to deliver a report and presentation on the last day of the internship in order to convey what you have learned over the two weeks.
The preparation for this presentation is usually where everything comes together – discussions about issues will help to reinforce understanding.

Interns often come from a computing background, but we’ve had highly successful interns from a range of fields.
Whether you’re a psychologist who taught yourself a bit of Python to speed up statistical analysis or a philosopher who dabbles in *nix internals, we definitely want to hear from you. The main things MWR people have in common is a drive to understand how things work and a passion for security.

When is it?
The upcoming internship dates for July 2024 are as follows:
- UCT: 17 July – 28 July
- Non-UCT: 3 July – 14 July
All internship applications for the July 2024 internship should be submitted by 1 June 2024, after which they will be processed.
