The NFVF takes local films to the Grahamstown National Arts Festival

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, is once again hosting the film component during the Grahamstown National Arts Festival. The festival runs from the 29th of June to the 9th of July 2024.

The National Arts Festival is an important event in the South African cultural calendar, and the biggest annual celebration of the arts in the African continent. The inclusion of the film screenings to the festival programme is pivotal in advancing the NFVF’s objective of increasing audience access to South African content.

The NFVF will host 9 screenings during the festival and has enabled producers from each film to be in attendance.

“In our efforts to grow the number of South Africans who consume South African content, we are proud to once again partner with the Grahamstown National Arts Festival. The festival allows the community, which does not have access to a traditional cinema, an opportunity to watch films. We therefore invite the community and all festival delegates to join us as we showcase the best of South African talent.” says NFVF CEO Zama Mkosi.
