GEOGRAPHICAL AREA:  Mountain Home – Hilton
Purpose of the position: 
To implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all Mondi nurseries and TIR facilities at Kwambonambi, Mt Home Complex and Piet Retief. Perform major maintenance repairs including welding, plumbing and basic servicing of nursery irrigation booms, pumps and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary: Artisan with specialisation in Welding / Plumbing / Electrical / Irrigation.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in maintenance of nursery equipment, construction and manufacturing environment, managing a maintenance team and a SHE program.
  • Proficient and competent as a welder and plumber
  • Specialised technical knowledge in servicing and maintenance of plant and equipment is essential
  • Self motivated
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Team work essential
  • Work independently
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, Occupational, Health and Safety Act, etc
  • Competency certificate to operate Bobcat or TLB
  • Valid driver’s license
  • All statutory and regulatory requirements


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Plans and co-ordinates the annual maintenance budgeting process.
  • Assists in planning and execution of Capex projects.
  • Implement appropriate weekly and monthly Safety checks for plant and equipment to ensure compliance with company safety standards
  • Conducts audits on all nursery and TIR infrastructure to ensure structures are kept in good condition
  • Performs emergency repairs when required
  • Manages the work schedule for the ground maintenance and conducts weekly inspections.
  • Manage all security related matters, maintain electric fence and secure boundary. Liaise with security contract manager on a monthly basis.
  • Draw up and implement a preventative maintenance plan for all Mondi nursery and TIR facilities.
  • Implement service schedules for emergency equipment i.e. generators, fire extinguishers, compressors etc. and supervise minor maintenance repairs.
  • Implement a fire protection plan for all sites.
  • Manages water works to ensure reservoirs and back up water pumps are secured, maintained and kept full at minimum stock levels.
