Purpose of the position: 
Reporting to the Managing Director the incumbent in this position will assist with the management of harvesting operations in the respective areas.
REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in a similar position
  • BSc/BTech Degree or Diploma in Forestry
  • Valid drivers license
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Entrepreneurship skills (Business skills)
  • Excellent community engagement and social forestry skills
  • In depth knowledge of Harvesting and sound knowledge of ISO, NOSA and FSC principles of management

RESPONSIBILITIES/KPI’s

  • Overall management of the contract to achieved desired results
  • Ensure all activities on APO are completed timeously
  • Meet monthly and annual production budget targets
  • Focus on the harvesting to ensure optimal volume
  • Management and control of company assets
  • Safety, Health and Environment compliance
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, NOSAFSC standards and requirements
  • Manage costs (people, equipment & resource utilization) in line with operational objectives, standards and goals
  • Ensure expenditure is properly recorded and filled (Invoices, cheque (leafs) and card usage) and analyze variance
  • Assist in compiling and drawing up monthly management accounts
