President Jacob Zuma has recently appointed two members of the Tshwane University of Technology’s Council to the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) Board and the Commission for Gender Equality respectively.
​​​The President appointed Mr Ronald Lamola, legal expert on the TUT Council and the Chairperson of the Tender Committee of the TUT Council, to the MDDA Board, together with Martina Della-Togna and Nombeko Mbava.
The President also announced the appointment of four members to the Commission for Gender Equality.
According to a statement from the Office of the President, “The president has designated Ms Lulama Nare as the chairperson of the Commission for Gender Equality with immediate effect until 31 March, 2024.”
Ms Nare, a Ministerial appointee on the TUT Council and Chairperson of the Employment Conditions Committee of Council, is a respected and well-known activist in garnering support for human and civil rights with regards to access to essential services in the country.

Mr Ronald Lamola, legal expert on the Council and the
Chairperson of the Tender Committee of Council, is one of
two TUT Council members that were recently appointed to
national presidential committees. President Zuma appointed
him to the MDDA.
