PwC South Africa Careers For Learners
Current opportunities for learners
Through PwC’s training programmes, you will gain exposure to the world of work.
In fact, many of our school leaver alumni who now hold senior positions at PwC are living proof of this. Through our school leaver programmes we aim to attract a diverse pool of talented individuals and provide them with the opportunity to obtain formal training, a professional qualification and an exciting career journey.
Joining us straight after school means you’ll be part of a team, working on client projects, which means you’ll be learning on the job, building the knowledge and skills you need to progress through our business. No matter what role you take on, you’ll meet new people, build lasting relationships all while learning new skills that will help you make a lasting impact on the world
Information for parents & teachers
Tackling the PwC recruitment process can be daunting. And although we’ll be supporting your child or learner with information and feedback throughout the process, the best way that you can help is by offering general support and encouragement.
Do they want to go into further education? Do they want to go to university? Do they want to take some time out and have a gap year? Or explore opportunities for starting work now?
We understand that making important decisions about their future and submitting applications can be daunting. That’s why we think it’s important to support you with information about the full range of opportunities available, so that you can help your children or learners make the choice that’s right for them and give themselves the best possible chance of success.
Learners bursaries
PwC has a bursary scheme that aims to attract exceptional young people who are unusually talented to the firm.
Please bear in mind that bursaries do not generally cover the full costs of the tuition, accommodation and books and as a result applicants must be prepared to pay a portion of their tuition costs themselves.
Bursaries are also awarded on the condition that when you complete your studies successfully, you will be required to work for PwC on a training contract, gaining hands-on experience in the business.
Learners career development
We’re truly invested in your growth and development and while at PwC you’ll work together with your manager to map out how you can progress within the organisation.

We’re truly invested in your growth and development and while at PwC you’ll work together with your manager to map out how you can progress within the organisation.
We want you to keep gaining new skills and challenging yourself, so your manager will work with you to identify how you can achieve your career aspirations. Whether you want to try a posting overseas or are interested in a particular field or sector, we can help you to make that happen as you build your career and develop through the required qualifications and training programs.
Some things you need to know about the opportunities at PwC:
Open to new perspectives
Diversity is critical to the success of our business, and we’re looking for talented people from all walks of life to bring fresh perspectives to our work. We seek individuals from all fields of study and experience, but our teams are particularly seeking individuals with education relating to our business areas: Advisory, Audit and Tax.
They can take you all the way to the top
At PwC, when you join straight out of school, there are several tracks to take. Enrolling in an academic degree while working in our five-year Assurance training, for example, is one entry route that gives you exactly the same chances of longer-term progression as those who join with a degree. There’s opportunity for everyone who joins us to progress and develop a long-term career after the initial training.
You can expect to be challenged
As a school-leaver joining one of our teams, you’ll be doing real work and gaining technical knowledge from day one.
We set the bar high
To gain a place, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the key skills we look for, as well as a strong academic background and the right attitude. We look for the same core skills when we recruit for any of our roles across the business areas – so we’re looking for talented people at every level, not just academic performance.
You’re joining something special
You’ll join us as part of a group and you’ll be part of a strong network of lots of other people in exactly the same situation as you. We actively encourage you to learn from one another and support each other throughout your time at PwC.
