Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
  • Proven track record in research and analysis
  • Knowledge of local government legislation
  • Driver’s license and own transport is a must
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar environment and ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
  • Must have a good understanding of the media landscape and social media experience
  • Good understanding of the DA policies

Core Responsibilities:

  • Advise DA caucus members in the Oversight Committees through monitoring and evaluating the implementation of departmental business plans
  • Compile and present reports
  • Identify and initiate research projects
  • Conduct independent research on behalf of the caucus
  • Disseminate research information
  • Develop and maintain external and internal relationships and networks
  • Recommend research capability and skills, when required, based on the caucus requirements and committee requests, for negotiation and contracting
  • Provide research and advisory services to the DA caucus members
