Bay Minerals bursaries are presented by the leading company of South Africa in world market of titanium products. The high quality production by the company is just as important as the human development in skills and knowledge, therefore RBM encourage South African potential students to study in mining-related fields of study and grow bigger by building the future in the area. Richards Bay Minerals, found in 1976 and headquartered in London, UK, is a South African mining company. The main concentration and products of the company are titanium dioxide, Ilmenit, Rutile and Zircon. Not only that, RBM also produce aluminium, diamonds and minerals, copper and coal and iron ore. The shareholders of Richards Bay Minerals are Rio Tinto, Blue Horizon Investments and RBM permanent employees. In technology and innovation area, RBM also working together with best academia through partnerships with well-known institutions, like Imperial College London and University of Sydney.
Available Fields of Study
Richards Bay Minerals bursaries are available for students who have passion in learning the following fields of study:

  • Accounting
  • Environmental Science
  • Geology/Surveying/Drilling
  • Chemistry
  • Metallurgy
  • Mining, Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Richards Bay Minerals bursaries will be awarded to qualified bursars in pursuing higher education at major universities in South Africa, include University of Cape Town, Stellenbosh University, University of Pretoria, University of Witwatersrand and University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements For Bursaries
Richards Bay Minerals bursaries require all interested applicants to fulfill the expected criteria as listed below:

  • The bursaries will be awarded only for South African citizens with valid ID
  • The applicants will study full-time at one of the major universities in South Africa
  • The applicants intend to study on one of fields of study mentioned above
  • Successful bursars will be taken on as graduate-in-training by the company
  • Bursars are required to work for the company for the years they are in sponsorship

Applying For Bursaries
Richards Bay Minerals bursaries closing date will be announced. To apply for the bursaries, applicants should provide first page passport photograph picture, copy of valid ID, copy of Grade 12 Certificate and copy of latest academic results.
