SA Revenue Service Learnership Programme

SA Revenue Service Learnership Programme

A learnership is a work-based programme that combines a structured learning component along with practical work experience. It leads to a nationally recognised qualification, directly related to an occupation and is registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
Learnerships are offered in among others:
  • forensic accounting
  • internal auditing
  • human resources
  • security studies
These learnerships are offered to students in Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges as well as unemployed graduates and matriculants.
Learnerships offer these individuals an opportunity to gain a further qualification in their chosen field of study. Learners are placed on a learnership contract and are required to fulfil the obligations of the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) and the employer in order to receive their qualification. Learners are placed on a 12 to 36 month contract and receive a monthly stipend.
At the end of the contract learners who meet SARS requirements and apply for an available vacancy may be placed in a permanent position. Should there be no suitable vacancies, SARS remains committed to releasing qualified learners into the market.

Who can apply for the Learnership Programme?

  • Graduates who have completed their studies at Higher Learning Institutions and Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges and have received a formal qualification (Matric plus 3 or 4 years) in the specified field and are seeking formal employment.
  • Matriculants with good scores in English and mathematics or accounting.
