Job description
The Loeries, a non-profit company, is the most prestigious brand communication award in our region, encompassing Africa and Middle East.
We are looking for a sales and marketing manager with a background in marketing, PR and communications. We are a hard-working and passionate team that runs like executive production company, working with multiple clients, stakeholders and suppliers. Although we are a small team, the work we do is seen and experienced by an entire industry on an international level. We need someone who takes pride in their work, who is confident, can think smart and is highly productive in a fast-paced environment.
The sales and marketing manager will communicate with key industry representatives, including brand leaders, journalists, media owners, agency leaders, production teams and suppliers. They will be a custodian of the Loeries brand and have the confidence to drive the Loeries forward into growing markets.

Key responsibilities:
Strategically plan, implement and manage the company’s through-the-line communications and marketing campaign across all media platforms – including direct marketing, online, social media, print, TV, outdoor, events and PR.
Work closely with appointed advertising agency, design agency, production company and other suppliers to brief and manage the annual marketing campaign and company branding.
Manage PR/communications agency to ensure media requirements are met, including but limited to, setting up interviews and securing coverage throughout the year, as well as confirming attendance for events.
Work with senior project manager to understand the individual objectives of sponsors and deliver communication/marketing that will strengthen these relationships.
Oversee communications for brand initiatives, including local and international entries, Creative Week ticket sales, exhibitions, seminars, awards, media conferences, scholarship programme, Migrate magazine, and other events and activities.
Increase industry participation in the Loeries – for both the entry period and attendance to Creative Week – with a focus on growing the Loeries in Africa and the Middle East.
Copy check and approve company branding and creative communication from concept stage to production.
Design/write/copy proof/edit mailers, press releases social media and other company communication in line with planned projects and objectives.
Manage website content and give input on ongoing development.
Negotiate contracts including media trade agreements and ensure that deliverables are met by all parties.
Build relationships with the media and track PR coverage through media monitoring.
Evaluate past marketing and communications and look at ways to improve the company’s brand positioning.
Ensure that the company delivers consistent and relevant messaging across all media channels.
Deliver proactive communication to target audiences.
Acquire, build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
Prepare/manage content plans, status reports and schedules for upcoming work.
Budget planning and management.
Report to the CEO.
