MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

1. Foreign Exchange new business development in the Western Cape Region;
2. Support the Western Cape forex desk in terms of client service and retention;
3. Foreign exchange client dealing; and
4. Deal administration on a daily basis.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
New business development:

• Sell full Sasfin forex product offering to small/medium corporate clients and individuals.
• Internal collaboration with all Sasfin divisions in terms of cross selling Sasfin Forex to the existing client base. Partake in external marketing, networking and brand awareness.
• Manage new leads via the CRM system on a weekly basis.
• On-board new clients.
• Credit applications via Johannesburg internal account executives.
• Ensure that client files are up to date in terms of FICA, KYC, credit reviews and SSIs.
• Grow the profitability of current client base, ensure client retention and be involved with client entertainment.

Quoting Forex rates:

• Quote foreign exchange Spots, Forwards and Swaps to client base.
• Manage forex risk in the interbank market.
• Provide clients with current market information/views.
• Assist clients with money market rates and transfers.
• Manage daily maturity report in terms of documents and standard settlement instructions to the back office in Johannesburg.

Systems:

• All client and interbank deals to be captured on T24.
• Interbank deals via web based platforms such as S2B.

SKILLS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

• Matric, preferably a graduate degree, with ACI and FSB REP/KI exams completed with at least five-to-ten years’ experience in corporate foreign exchange.
• The candidate should be experienced in the art of relationship development and negotiating at senior level.
• Strong technical product skills and the ability to sell the entire range of Sasfin Forex products, including transactional banking and money market products.
• Strong computer skills and good understanding of online forex trading systems.
• Existing client and market networks at senior level.
• Self-motivated and ability to identify opportunities and make cold calls.
• Good communication skills both verbally and written.
• Must be a team player.
• Be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
• Attention to detail and very sound and accurate administration skills.
• Must be able to travel in order to service clients.
