South 32 2024 Job Vacancy Lead Supply Chain

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The execution and management of resources, activities, information and processes used to deliver a product from South32 Marketing handover point to the point-of-sale, or delivery to end customer receiving and/or – reselling points

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in supply chain management/Logistics/Business Administration with  a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain management or logistics, of which 2 year must have been in a supervisory capacity;
• Experience in the execution and management of commercial contracts is essential;
• Relevant knowledge with SAP Material Management and SAP Sales & Distribution is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Accurate and timely execution of the day-to-day sequence of processes in the sale and distribution of South32’s suite of products as well as purchases of 3rd party buy-ins in compliance with relevant standards & regulatory requirements;
• Coordinates activities and information flow between customers, suppliers and Supply Chain and across Marketing as well as Operations to foster excellent customer, supplier relationships to deliver a superior outcome;
• Promotes and embeds the use of SAP and South32’s systems, tools and reports in relation to data integrity as well as the capture and storage of information for record keeping and audit purposes;
• Manages and reviews Supply Chain performance measures timeously to identify gaps and take corrective action as necessary to improve performance;
• Manages team members’ performance to ensure competency, adherence to work standards so they understand the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to their work;
• Provides input to Operations Manager for the efficient utilisation of resources and effective planning and distribution of workload & capacities to promote a sustainable work environment;
• Identifies and implements continuous Supply Chain improvement initiatives with support from Operations Manager.
