Capabilities and Responsibilities
Based at the Perth Head Office, and reporting to the Lead Health Improvement, the purpose of this role is to execute governance and assurance activities to enable the corporate and regional business to deliver Health excellence. In addition you will:
- Coordinate and implement the regional health assurance program to verify adherence to South32 Standards
- Perform analysis of health and hygiene performance metrics and benchmarks performance across the industry, South32 and the Australian Region operations
- Support the update and management of regional health and hygiene risk profile
- Support the regional business to identify health and hygiene improvement initiatives that align to the business planning priorities
- Maintain oversight and provide input into regional health legal obligations reviews and updates
- Provide specialist input into reporting processes across required to meet internal and external requirements
- Develops, coaches and mentors site-based health execution teams to build in-house expertise to deliver against objectives and sustain functional excellence
- Manage consultants and provide input and support into the management of health improvement budget
About You
This role requires a professional that has practiced as an Occupational Hygienist, with a minimum 3 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, evidenced through having successfully held a similar Hygiene specialist position. The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated hands on experience developing, influencing and delivering successful health and hygiene projects
- Proven ability to influence others, negotiate positive outcomes and work within a team
- Effective communication and presentation skills and demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
- Detailed knowledge of key concepts, theories and practices related to the control of health and hygiene related risks
A post graduate qualification in Occupational Hygiene is essential. Full membership or certification from the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists will be viewed favourably. A strong working knowledge of SAP and Medgate will also be viewed favourably.
