South 32 2024 Job Vacancy Superintendent Environmental Engineering Projects Wolvekrans

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The purpose of the role is to manage, document and co-ordinate internal and external consultant / expert inputs into Environmental Impact Assessments for the WMC complex. Part of his role will be to lead and coordinate water management and enviromental related projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Engineering coupled with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Project Management environment with at least 2 years’ experience at a project specialist level is essential.
• Experience in Opencast Mining as well as Surface Plants will be advantageous;
• Computer literacy in MS Office and SAP is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop and implement the strategy and action plans regarding environmental compliance for the Opencast and Plant Department;
• Plan strategically to ensure environmental compliance and incorporate this delivered input into the long-term strategic plans;
• Embed the South32 Care Strategy and Well Designed Work;
• Interact with environmental, external consultants and legal departments to ensure a consolidated view is available for the environmental and water reticulation for the complex.
• Ensure clear communication channels are maintained between Production and Maintenance execution teams and this function.
• Govern work practices within the environmental policy and asset management framework;
• Utilise SAP work management processes to manage environmental compliance;
• Analyse and calculate environmental infrastructure performance against technical capability;
• Ensure statutory and legislative compliance of relevant environmental related infrastructure within the operation, and that controls are in place for the identified material risks within the environmental function.
