Standard Bank of South Africa Integrated Operational Risk (IOR) Internship 2024
Are you interested in foiling corporate crime, thwarting cybercrime or ending process failures? Operational Risk, Financial Crime and Information Risk are growing fields and exposure to these will give your career a vast and well-rounded understanding of the banking environment. These three risk types will form the foundation of your experience at the bank ensuring that you learn the business of Risk Management; the intricacies of fraud investigations, syndicate card fraud, and scams; and the technical nature of denial of service attacks, vulnerability management and data breaches, amongst others. Who should apply?
Candidates in their final year of study (Honours level, 4 year degree course or 3 year degree course). We recruit from the following degree disciplines LLB, Bcom, Bsc , Forensics, Quantitative Stats.
What are we looking for?
Candidates who are highly motivated, with a commercial focus and strong analytical ability. You should be able to think on your feet, enjoy being challenged and demonstrate good attention to detail. Teamwork is key, and we look for candidates that bring a degree of humility, collaboration and willingness to roll up your sleeves.

Interviews
If you pass our first screening we’ll invite you to interview- on campus, at our offices or over the phone. We may ask you back for a further interview or psychometric test.
Assessment
The last step, and the most intensive. At our Global Leadership Centre you’ll be taking part in a range of interviews, presentations and team exercises while getting the opportunity to network with some of our most senior bankers.
