Stenden Hotel Management School (Stenden HMS)

Stenden HMS is an international institute with approximately 2400 students and over 100 employees. The School offers ‘real world’, internationally oriented educational programmes, designed to prepare students for operational and management positions in the hospitality industry, and other service related companies. Stenden HMS programmes are delivered at national and international branch campuses.

The position

The position of lecturer incorporates the following tasks:

  • Tutoring during Problem Based Learning (PBL) sessions
  • Lecturing and conducting workshops in revenue management for the hospitality industry
  •  Lecturing and conducting workshops in hospitality accounting
  • Bachelor Dissertation supervision
  • Developing new teaching materials and approaches
  • Student coaching and internship supervision
  • Co-ordination and organisational tasks

The Profile

The candidate:

  • possesses a master degree;
  • has at least 5 -10 years’ experience in the field of revenue management within an international hospitality organisation;
  • possesses an excellent command of written and spoken English;
  • holds a teaching qualification or is prepared to obtain one;
  • is innovative, independent and enthusiastic;
  • is open to working (for short periods) at our campus sites abroad;

Experience in the following areas is an advantage:

  • research supervision at bachelor level
  • curriculum development
  • familiarity with the educational concept of Problem Based Learning

Conditions

  • Start: August 2024.
  • Suitably qualified applicants will be considered for the position of Lecturer.
  • This position is at pay scale 11 (max 4.661,12 gross per month based on full-time employment).
  • The function is initially for the period of one year and may be extended based on successful completion of the probationary period.
