Tshwane University of Technology Postgraduate Support
The main purpose of postgraduate studies is to develop independent research skills. Postgraduate students focus on conducting research independently and creating their own work structure. The University employs experts to provide guidance to postgraduate students through the completion of their postgraduate qualifications. In areas where capacity is low, students are assisted with the understanding of the research process. Courses are established specifically for postgraduate skills development, for example, academic proposal-writing workshops, dissertation-writing workshops and grant-writing workshops.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellowships Programme provides support to a core of the most promising researchers at a pivotal time in their careers. The programmes are also intended to secure a supply of highly qualified South Africans with leading-edge scientific and research skills for the South African industry, government and universities. The University encourages qualified doctoral students who are interested in the programme to apply.
