TURBINE ART FAIR (TAF) GRADUATE PAINTER’S SHOW

TURBINE ART FAIR (TAF) GRADUATE PAINTER’S SHOW

You are invited to submit your work for the Turbine Art Fair’s Graduate Painting show. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your paintings to critics, collectors and the public.

Turbine Art Fair (TAF) Graduate Painter's Show
The exhibition will be curated by Jessica Webster in collaboration with Amber-Jade Geldenhuys and MC Roodt. The title of the exhibition is touch. We are looking at paintings which emphasise surface-quality and texture in which the meaning of the work is made. For example, you may be working with thick layers of paint to heighten a sense of the psycho-somatic, or, you may be painting in ultra-thin layers to provoke an experience of the ethereal. Alternatively, you may be painting in hyper-realistic ways which capture the visual textures of objects and figures. In sum, we want the show to evoke a deep impression of sensuality in material methods of painting.
This is an open call and we would like to see as many submissions as possible. Please provide us with your artist profile as well as a brief overview of your work, including how your choice of material and technique manifests in a certain process which informs the concept and affect of your paintings. If your work references art-historical paintings, mention that too.
Once the primary selection of work is made, studio visits will be organised across the country to make the final selections. The deadline for submissions is 28 FEBRUARY 2024. Submit between 1 and 5 images of your paintings (600dpi) via WeTransfer and send a notification to info@jessicawebster.co.za, as well as email a completed artist form to info@jessicawebster.co.za.
